To ensure consistent and accurate readings, the Sand Rammer (Model 42100) needs to be isolated from vibration variations. Therefore, the Sand Rammer Base is mounted to the rammer to achieve uniform ramming energy regardless of where the device is used.

To aid in cleaning and preparing the specimen tube before testing, the base is fitted with a Specimen Tube Swab.
