Muffle Furnace

Model 42127

The Muffle Furnace is used to calculate loss on ignition (LOI) and volatiles on both chemically and clay bonded foundry sands.

This calculation allows foundries to monitor and control organic additives in clay bonded sand such as sea coal, cellulose and cereal and binder percentages in chemically bonded sand.

The furnace temperature is adjustable between 100°C – 1,100°C (212oF – 2,012oF) with the operating temperature displayed on a digital display. The furnace is available in a small size with chamber dimensions of 250mm x 135mm x 140mm (9.8” x 5.3” x 5.5”) or a large size with chamber dimensions of 330mm x 200mm x 200mm (13” x 8” x 8”). Both are equipped with a PID temperature controller which has a large, bright digital LED that will display either the set point or process temperature.
