The Ultrasonic Cleaner is used with the Methylene Blue Clay Tester (Model 42108) to scrub a sand sample before the addition of methylene blue dye.

The digital timer and the ability to heat the water bath up to 60°C (140°F), enables maximum control of cycle time with clear read-outs and one touch settings.

The cleaner performs by producing sound waves that radiate as bubbles around the 250-milliliter stainless steel beaker then implode releasing enormous amounts of energy. This energy is transmitted through the beaker causing an intense cleaning action that removes bentonite from the sand and breaks down colonies or clusters of bentonite. All the bentonite within the sample must be removed from the sand to determine the total methylene blue clay percentage.

The tank capacity of the Ultrasonic Cleaner is 1.9 liters (0.5 gallons).
