Design advantages over competitive urethane liners:
- Close tolerance fit
- Larger diameter washers prevent bolts pulling through urethane when mounting
- Double washer mounted to liner for stronger fit and elimination of dimples
- True/positive bolt location for ease of assembly and adjustment in both directions
- Bright yellow color increases liner visibility and as it fades overtime indicates wear
- Reinforced design prevents the liners from prematurely pulling away from muller bowl and door
The Challenge
In most foundries the standard Simpson rubber design is the best option providing good performance at an economical price - saving at least 10% compared to the cost of a set of urethane or competitors rubber liners. Rubber is less expensive, but it is less durable.
Simpson Solution
Simpson has the right liner for your budget and operation intensity. Most Speedmullor liners are available in either durable rubber or high-performance urethane. In high production foundries long-lasting urethane can provide the best long-term solution by outlasting rubber by 3 or more times. One Simpson customer in Indiana reported that after 8 months of continuous operation in their 100B that the Simpson urethane wheels and liners “look excellent, both wheels and side liners show little to no wear…with this kind of continued performance we will not need to do any material replacement during this year’s shutdown. This looks like it may last another year or even longer."
