Scott Strobl is the Executive Vice President of Simpson Technologies Corporation in Aurora, IL. Scott joined Simpson in 1993 as Product Manager – Sand Control Technologies. He then served as Technical Director and Vice President of Technology, until his appointment in 2006 as Executive Vice President.
Scott graduated from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Technology Education in 1988 and a Master of Science in 1992.
At Simpson, Scott participates as a member of the executive team responsible for strategic planning and overall corporate strategies. He provides leadership and active involvement in multiple corporate acquisitions and new product development projects. He is extremely active in Simpson’s launch, development and growth of the global sand testing equipment business. Simpson has grown to become the world leader in this technology.
Scott has served the metal casting industry for the past 26 years. Scott is a frequent author and speaker on technical matters throughout the global foundry industry. He has published over 15 technical articles in the United States and international technical journals and he holds a US Patent. He has presented more than 150 technical lectures and training seminars in the United States, Australia, India, Mexico, Russia and Sweden. Scott is active in the American Foundry Society (AFS). He is active on several technical committees, since 1993, and has served two terms on the Cast Metals Institute Board of Directors.
In 1999, Scott was awarded the AFS Service Citation, “For his extensive contributions in the transfer of technology to the industry and for furthering the development of the foundry testing equipment and testing procedures”.
Prior to joining Simpson, Scott worked for five years at the Cast Metals Institute. He was as the Director of Education responsible for teaching and coordinating technical courses in all casting alloys and facets of the metal casting process.
