26th Ledebur-Kolloquium in Freiberg, Germany

Simpson Technologies GmbH attended the 26th annual Ledebur-Kolloquium in Freiberg, Germany from October 27th thru the 28th . This event was hosted by the Foundry Institute and the Executive Board of Freiberger Gießer e.V at TU Bergakademie Freiberg.

Ledebur-Kolloquium has been established over the last several years as a meeting place for professional colleagues to exchange experiences and learn about new and developing research. More than 320 professional visitors from the foundry industry attended this event; which was record high for attendance.

postersThe foundry hall at TU Bergakademie Freiberg just recently remodeled their facility. The institute now has a new technology center that is used for both teaching and research. TU Bergakademie Freiberg also renovated their equipment to offer their student’s a world class education.  In 2005 Simpson Technologies GmbH donated a selection of Simpson Analytics sand laboratory testing equipment to TU Bergakademie Freiberg to help modernize their laboratory.

In 2015, Ledebur-Kolloquium attracted a large audience and officially opened their robotics center. The institute explained that the robotics center enables students and engineers to explore possible applications for robotics in a foundry. The discussion of ongoing projects within the foundry industry continued this year.
