What excites you most about joining Simpson as an Applications Engineer?
I am excited to be part of a truly innovative company with a strong track record of customer success, that has and will continue to help propel the foundry industry forward into a digitally connected, mechanically advanced, AI data driven future. As an application Engineer, I get to work with people like you to develop proposals and customize equipment solutions for your company that I can stand by and proud of for decades to come. I also get to develop the engineering and science of the foundry industry, and work on globally impactful innovations for the foundry industry.
What is the best part of your role?
I love how dynamic my role is. Getting to work with so many types of customers to understand their processes, their company goals, their unique challenges, and their equipment needs so that we can engineer for them solutions that meet and exceed the demands of their manufacturing operations, whether in the foundry industry or beyond.
What makes Simpson stand out in driving results for foundries?
We pride ourselves on doing things the right way. We don’t cut corners, we go to great lengths to ensure that customers are set up to succeed with our equipment. We have experts in the field that use their deep knowledge to circumvent future failures, and make recommendations that are rooted in historic success.
What do you value most about the relationships/partnerships with our customers?
Our customers are the reason why we do what we do everyday. When they succeed, so do we, so we want to do whatever we can to help customers purchase the right equipment, maintain it very well, and get the best possible life out of it, to ultimately produce good castings that will help them meet their company goals. And after working hard in their plant or office, its always icing on the cake to get to know the customer beyond the setting of work and chat about our personal lives and celebrate a job well done.
If you could have a superpower to do your job better, what would it be and why?
I would love to be able to multiply myself so I could be in three places at once. That way, I could use 1 iteration of myself to devoting ample time to being with customers and helping them solve customer issues, another to working internal to Simpson to innovate the industry and develop our products, and the last one to spending time learning, researching, and developing myself so I could always be learning something.
