Upgrade to 3818-NT Compactability Controller/Conductivity Measurement
Engineering Bulletin #2005001
Currently, the flush water
addition on the Model 3818-NT Simpson Compactability Controller is a fixed
amount that is entered by an operator and can only be changed manually.
Sand systems with return sands that have large variances in moisture may
result in the flush water setting being too large or too small.
Simpson Technologies has developed a means to automatically adjust the flush
water amount based on a conductivity reading at the feed belt to the muller
weigh hopper.

Communication & Reporting Package for
Hartley Compactability Controllers
Engineering Bulletin #2005002
Until now the only way to capture machine
performance data on Hartley compactability controllers was with a
printer. Although this method is effective it has its drawbacks such
as large stacks of paper, no way to easily retrieve past data, and the
difficulty of keeping the printer
operating in the foundry environment. The Simpson Group
communication and data acquisition package will allow for viewing and
archiving operational and performance parameters of Hartley
Compactability Controllers that are controlled by an Allen Bradley
PLC. |

Upgrade to Hartley Agitator Mounting Bracket
Engineering Bulletin #2005003
The improved agitator mounting bracket was
designed to address customer reports of premature bracket failure in
the field. The old bracket design also allowed for an unwanted
buildup of molding sand.

Modem Upgrade
Engineering Bulletin #2003004
Until now, troubleshooting or modifying
PLC programs by Simpson control engineers or service engineers
required a visit to the customer location. This could be expensive
and required waiting for the service engineer to arrive. The Modem upgrade package allows customers
using Simpson products to have Simpson engineers help troubleshoot
problems with the equipment or modify the PLC program over the
telephone lines at less cost than having a site visit. With the MODEM
kit, Simpson personnel from the corporate office could view and modify
the PLC program that is operating the machine during operation.
